Specialist mould, toxin and odour decontamination

Mould and most other contaminates can be removed  any competent contractor following recognised protocols. Unfortunately physical and more importantly economical decontamination of residual often chemically bonded or microscopic particulates cannot always be removed by cleaning. Sometimes odours and the  possibly toxic chemical VOCs, SVOCs and secondary metabolites called mycotoxins remain and these can affect the health of building occupants especially tosentised or genetically prone people. The contamination present my be ingested inhaled or enter the body through skin contact. See (medical support section and mycotoxins)

Never use a fan to dry when mould is around

HEPA Filtration and controls

Building forensics provide the most advanced decontamination process which are specifically designed for fast economic decontamination of odours and pathogenic residue.

The process involves the use of extremely toxic aerosolised and dry gas phase chemicals within a suitably controlled environment which is sealed from entry by all except those wearing full body and respiratory protection. Absolutely no other entry is permitted as the chemicals present are termed "Immediate Danger to Life or Health."

The process requires simple environmental controls and upon completion, usually 2 to 3 hours, all chemicals used will dissipate naturally, leaving no residue.

This process is equipment and material driven with minimum labour content and can only be utilised following thorough cleaning by others who must remove the gross soiling.

This process is not a substitute for thorough mould removal and is purely a neutralisiation of chemicals especially odours and mycotoxins.

How do we prove efficacy?

The chemical and delivery process we utilise is measured and recorded on data loggers with a print out for client use.

The harmful and toxic chemicals and odour present may be in such small quantities that cost effective measurement is imposible and therefore our process uses  oxidising agents which are known to  burn up or destroy these contaminates, subject to delivered exposure over time.

Conflict of Interest

Building Forensics provides scientific analysis of contamination presence and decontamination efficiency and therefore it may be seen by some that to provide decontamination and clearance is a conflict of interest. This is accepted, but it appears Building Forensics are uniquely placed to provide both services and the client must determine these benefits and either accept Building Forensics integrity or seek independent and impartial clearance.
